Guest Bill Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Whenever I select "Open File" in Quicktime, DivX, etc... and I click on the "File Name" box, a drop down list appears of recent files. This seems to be a list of the first files that I have used and this list does not seem to update to reflect new selections. I have tried to remove them from within each program but this seems to be a Windows related issue. How do I delete these file names so more recent selections can be recorded? Bill.
Guest Ramesh, MS-MVP Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Re: Removing Past Selections From the Open File Dialog Box Hi Bill, Right-click Start, and then click Properties. Or, if the Start menu is already displayed, right-click an empty area of the Start menu, and then click Properties. Click Customize. Click the Advanced tab. Under Recent documents, click Clear List, click OK, and then click OK. This clears the recent documents folder, Run MRU entries, typed URLs in IE and the file names history in Open/Save As dialog boxes. Not sure if QuickTime, DivX players use the Windows Common Dialog control, but the above is worth a try. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "Bill" <Bill@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A4589F52-A195-4DE1-B3CD-2B8932C881AF@microsoft.com...
