Guest tilsleyj Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I have a lot of users on a terminal service farm and these users are in 6 different physical locations. I want to install all of their printers as local printers of the terminal service server, but would like to only have the printers that pertain to a location to show up. Any good way of doing this?

When you said "I want to install all of their printers as local printers of the terminal service server", do you install the printers on the client sides in 6 different locations, or do you install them on the server machine? -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Guest tilsleyj Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Re: Need to suppress different local printers of the terminal service server(s). I want to install the printers on the TS servers, but restrict who can see the printers based on their groups.
Guest Helge Klein Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Re: Need to suppress different local printers of the terminal service server(s). Why don't you set permissions on the printers? I do not know whether a user who has no permission on a certain printer can see it or not, but you should try it. I hope this helps. Guest Priya Raghavan [MSFT] Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Re: Need to suppress different local printers of the terminal service server(s). If you are installing local printers on the TS Server, to control access restrictions on local printers, you can do the foll: .. Install local printers on TS server .. From Control Panel -> Printers, select a particular printer -> Properties -> Security tab .. Here, you can give "Manage Printers", "Manage Documents" or "Print" permissions on that printer for any particular user group. -- Thanks, Priya.
