Error message when exiting IE

Firewall,anti virus /spyware is Zone alarm security suite....Restore returned Pc to original state,but help was appreciated when reinstalling IE7 with reset etc....next move is to reinstall Microsoft office 2007 and hopefully find system has stabilized...will also then complete moves as indicated by Seth....incidentally Wolfmole your avatar is exact image of my young dog a husky wolf cross the INUIT!!So we are all in good company.....

Sorry for delay in reply but have been carrying out advice as given.....have now come back to where I started.

With PC running smoothly and no error messages..I reinstalled my copy of Office 2007 and immediately on exiting IE I get the same original error message as reported to PC Help?

The main question I have is :

the error message appears to cause no problems so can I just ignore it??

Did you also reinstall SP1 and all other Office updates Caskin?

I have posted three replies in last few days..they are NOT appearing on forum (at least not for me??)is there a problem

At present I am back to where I started,same error message after carrying out all advice.

Error message again only apeared aftet reinstalling Office 2007....:confused:

Right I have downloaded all custom updates as indicated ...two updates refused to instal....Microsoft.net framework.2.0 and Microsoft.net.framework.3.0??

I would suspect so.

 

Let's see if IE has problems in Safe Mode With Networking. As soon as you turn on the computer, keep tapping F8 which will get you to a boot menu. Use the arrow keys to navigate to Safe Mode With Networking and press enter. Now test out IE.

 

If IE still has problems, remove Office and test IE.

 

Based on the above results, I'll have one final suggestion for you.

With Office removed everything runs OK...but I need office installed as it is my main working tool around which most of my pC operations are based?

For now, use the free clone of Office called Open Office, as until a resolution is found, there is no point in reinstalling Office.

The support from this site is phenomenal and again all I can say is thanks......I downloded the version of office suggested and have reinstalled IE7 and everything is working fine.

With regards to Ebay problem,I tried it with Zone alarm security suite disabled and it then also worked fine...Although i have Zoner alarm formatted to allow ebay transactions,it obviously requires a tweak elsewhere whicc I can take up with them...I do have all pop ups turned of.

Hi caskin;

I use Open Office too. So if you have any questions on it post in Business Applications and we will try to help you with it. Personally I like it. I used to use Microsoft Office 2000 Pro but it doesn't work with Vista.
