Guest Glamprecht Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 When I am logged into my Win2003 Terminal server I cannot access some admin features. Such as "services" or "Computer management". The typical routes to get to these tools are not available. Such as when I right click My Computer, there is not an option for "Computer Management" and when I go to Control Panel and open up administrative tools I only see three tools that I can access; Cluster Admin and two that deal with Net Framework. I am a Domain Admin and I administer this server but weather I am logged in locally or remotely to this server there are areas of the server system that I cannot easily access. For now i have been creating custom MMC consoles but this is driving me nuts. Am i missing something, Going nuts or just Ignorant of TS behavior?? Any ideas?

Usually we create a separate OU and put all TSs there and apply a GP using the loopback processing mode set to replace. By default this applies to 'Authenticated Users' and therefore, to the admins as well. Unless you explicitly change the policy not to apply to admins this will happen. But again in this case I assume there is a policy being applied somewhere... -- Cláudio Rodrigues CEO, TSFactory Inc. Microsoft MVP Windows Server - Terminal Services http://www.tsfactory.com

I will look a little closer. Thanks
