Guest merlin2049er Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Hi, I got a few questions regarding TS and how to configure the following; I've configured each of our remote users using the RDP 6 client - it launches our custom datebase application when then login. Anyways, I've configured the group policies to - Keep-Alive the connection -Enabled (no one likes to login in if they are inactive for a while) - Automatic reconnection -Enabled (reconnect if they loose connectivity) - Restrict Terminal server users to a single remote session - Enabled That all works well, the issues I'm facing are people are shutting down the session (using the x in the yellow bar) but the application is still running. When they attempt to log back in they get a blank screen. I have to manually reset their connection. How can I reset their connection (and shut down the application) when they disconnect? Any suggestions? Thanks In Advance, JG
Guest Helge Klein Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Re: Terminal server settings... You can monitor terminal servers and reset or log off session with tsadmin.exe (included in Windows). I hope this helps. Guest Helge Klein Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Re: Terminal server settings... OK, sorry for the misunderstanding. Please have a look at the settings on the RDP listener in Terminal Services Configuration. There you can set a time limit in minutes after which a disconnected session is being logged off. Alternatively this can be set in the AD user account. I hope this helps. Helge On 12 Jul., 22:38, merlin2049er <merlin204...@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > Hi, yes I know that. Guest Vera Noest [MVP] Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Re: Terminal server settings... You can configure a short time out limit (say 5 minutes) on disconnected sessions and have them automatically reset when the limit is reached. This is done in Terminal Services Configuration or in a GPO. _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ =?Utf-8?B?bWVybGluMjA0OWVy?= <merlin2049er@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote on 12 jul 2007 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > Hi, yes I know that. And yes, if you use this then disconnected sessions are not being logged off but reset. Guest merlin2049er Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Re: Terminal server settings... Thanks, I set the time out to 1 minute in the gpo and it works great.
