Quacker Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 (edited) Hi Steve. I've reviewed the thread. 1) Does Adobe Flash Player show up in add/remove programs? (Just wanting to confirm it's installed). 2) See if you tube works in Safe Mode With Networking. Keep tapping F8 as the computer starts to access that mode. OK starting from here, can I assume Adobe Flash Player is showing as Adobe Flash Player plug in 9.0.124.0 in programs Also I couldn't get online in safe mode - which I assumed. How do I access the net? - I was in safe mode with netweorking by the way. Edited June 12, 2008 by Quacker Quote
Quacker Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 Don't forget about post 45 Steve. Also have a look here: Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player. I'll check this again Seth. Goku, where can I find the IE6 skin for Firefox? - I can use stealth tactics to change it over.:D Quote
Goku Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I'll check this again Seth. Goku, where can I find the IE6 skin for Firefox? - I can use stealth tactics to change it over.:D Your best bet would be to install the Neofox IE 6 theme. And beware as stealth tactics can fail too. Your father will realize it soon enough that he can do tabbed browsing which might throw caution to the winds. But on the other side, if he does discover Firefox by himself, he will love it even more. There is just so much to explore and play with that he will like it. Let us know if you are successful in converting him as another convinced Firefox user or not. :) -- Goku Quote
Quacker Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 STOP PRESS : PLEASE READ Light at the end of the tunnel? - you bet i just got blinded!! - Not only is my old fella all "Youtubed" up, but he also accepted and likes Firefox:) - unfortunately when I set it up on his PC - I inadvertently set it up for my user - so when I transferred the favourites, I transferred mine. So now I think we can close this one off. I followed a few steps, I retraced I emptied cache & cookies - everything - then I thought nothing to lose try Firefox. Never a problem with Firefox. Downloaded, run and straight onto youtube. I even thought I'd manage to fix something and went straight onto youtube via IE7 - nothing - same old message. I've left both on there until I can get his favourites from one to the other. I don't know enough about it to know why what happened happended. - hopefully you guys know the reasons. I should have tried it earlier when you suggested, but I was hampered. In future he'll just have to fit in. Important thing is it is done now - more importantly, it might serve to help others. Now I can concentrate on pimping Firefox - once again a million thanks to all of you guys - worth your weight in gold - and then some. I'm getting my money's worth. Steve Quote
Goku Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 From your tone, it seems that both you and your father seem to love Firefox. I am not surprised by this as old Internet Explorer users often find Firefox as a gust of fresh breeze. Glad we could help. If you have any other problems, you know where to ask next. :) -- Goku Quote
Quacker Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 Funny about IE7 - but hey-** - make sure to pass my thanks on to all the mods - though I'm sure they'll read it. Quote
