Windows Shutdown after connection closed

Hello,

 

is it possible to shut down the local Windows XP System after a user closed

the terminal connection???

There's no preconfigured setting for this.

You could either do it interactively, as the last thing you do within

the session, or *maybe, haven't tested it* define a logoff script

which shuts down the system when you log of the session.

 

A utility like ReconnAct! might do this for you:

You probably would not want to do that automatically. Why not? What happens

if your user is working and his session is disconnected due to a network

burp? Boom, the XP system shuts down, the user's work is lost, and the user

cannot reconnect to the session, because the XP system is now OFF!

 

What is your goal here?

It is a request of my client; eiter to shut down the system or to log of the

current user.

I know this problem. But my client requested me either to shut down the PC

or to log of the current user when he closed the remote client. It is also

neccesary to start the remote connection directly after login.

Terminal Services (TS) has some session settings that tells TS when to

end/reset a disconnected session. This client settings are available in

Server skus only.
