Guest markus.zebisch Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Hello, is it possible to shut down the local Windows XP System after a user closed the terminal connection??? Regards, Markus
Guest Vera Noest [MVP] Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Re: Windows Shutdown after connection closed There's no preconfigured setting for this. You could either do it interactively, as the last thing you do within the session, or *maybe, haven't tested it* define a logoff script which shuts down the system when you log of the session. A utility like ReconnAct! might do this for you: http://www.brianmadden.com/content/content.asp?ID=298 _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ "markus.zebisch" <markuszebisch@hotmail.com> wrote on 16 jul 2007 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > Hello, > > is it possible to shut down the local Windows XP System after a > user closed the terminal connection??? > > Regards, > > > Markus

Guest Gregg Hill Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Re: Windows Shutdown after connection closed You probably would not want to do that automatically. Why not? What happens if your user is working and his session is disconnected due to a network burp? Boom, the XP system shuts down, the user's work is lost, and the user cannot reconnect to the session, because the XP system is now OFF! What is your goal here? Guest markus.zebisch Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Re: Windows Shutdown after connection closed I know this problem. But my client requested me either to shut down the PC or to log of the current user when he closed the remote client. It is also neccesary to start the remote connection directly after login.
