Guest Shell Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Hi, Is there any way to clearly identify what brings the machine out of hibernation? I'm running Win2k3 SBS SP2, and my machine wakes up randomly after I put it into hibernation. Wake on LAN is definitely disabled in BIOS and also in the PROSet properties for my NIC. The only EventLog entries are: Event Type: Information Event Source: Application Popup Event Category: None Event ID: 42 Date: 17-Jul-07 Time: 11:36:28 PM User: N/A Computer: XXXXXXXXXXXXX Description: The system was put into hibernation. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. Where can I dig to find out what causes the machine to resume automatically?

Or in standby...or anything like that... Guest Gerritjan Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Re: Identify what brings Win2k3 out of hibernation? Why would you want to put a server into hibernation? A server's use is to serve clients, not to sleep! > Is there any way to clearly identify what brings the machine out of > hibernation?
