Guest digimom Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Drive 0 is partitioned to F: and G:, I am able to access G: but I get this message when I try to access F: "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I am the administrator and only user of this computer for years. I want to rename my drives but am unable to due to this restriction. Is there any hope for me????? What to do please??? Thank you digimom

You might operate the pc as one of the "administrators" but not the "administra- tor" the s makes alot of diffrence in xp..As for the hd,try uninstalling it in device- mgr,or in diskmgmt.XP will reinstall on start-up.Or,tap the F8 key on start-up, select safe mode,enter xp as the "administrator" perform the tasks... To the OP, you haven't gotten any answers because it is unclear exactly what you are trying to do. I'm not sure what "rename my drives" means.
