Guest Bongard Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me out with something that I should know how to do. When I have say 10 internet explorers open and 5 excel files - instead of 15 little icons on the taskbar I'd like it to default to grouping the icons as one button with the dropdown list of sites or file names(I know I have seen this before on other's computers). Does anyone know where this setting can be found and whether this is a windows setting or an application setting? Thanks for your help - appreciate it! Brian

Right click on the taskbar and select Properties. On the Taskbar tab make sure that "Group similar taskbar buttons" is checked. -- Tom Porterfield
Guest RalfG Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Re: Stacking like icons on taskbar Right-click any blank spot on the Taskbar and select Properties. Select "Group similar taskbar buttons". If you have the Tweakui powertoy for XP installed you can also modify how grouping works somewhat.
