Guest MedRxman Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I currenetly have a PC with 2 hard drives and dual boots with Win98 SE and Win Pro The master drive C: has Windows98 SE Installed The second drive has 3 partitions: D,E and F D drive has windows XP Pro I would like to partition the C drive to 2 partitions, C and D and eirhter clone the current D dirve ( which I know will change drive letter upon partitioning) or restore an image of the current D drive to the new D drive and then reformat the D drive on the second hard drive and use it for storage, thery by syill having 3 partitions on the second hard drive. What changes to the boot.ini do I have to make, or what would be the suggested way to accomplish what I want to do? Thanks in advance
Guest Rich Barry Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Re: Dual Boot If your intention is to get rid of the dual boot and Win98SE, I would partition the first drive using fdisk and that will destroy the Win98OS. I would leave the second drive as is and just do a Repair Install of WinXP. Guest MedRxman Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Re: Dual Boot I want to maintain a Dual Boot. I want both OSs (win98SE and WinXP Pro) on the same Hard Drive and ability to dual boot.. Currently Win98 is on one hard drive and WIN XP is on the second hard drive.
