Guest Paul Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Hi, There is a domain inside the IIS SMTP that I can not delete. The default domain is there, that is made up of my fqdn and called (Default), but there is another domain that is listed with garbled characters and called (Normal). 2nd mouse click doesn't show the delete command. I used regedit to search for the name of the rogue domain but the string value doesn't exist in the registry. Any ideas how I can get rid of this rogue domain? Thanks.
Guest Curious_2k3 Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 RE: SMTP: Unable to delete virtual domain Hi Paul, I have noticed the same thing myself a time or two. However if you add a remote or alias domain, the following KB could be used to remove them. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/303708 On the other hand, when you create a domain from within the POP3 service, if it is no longer needed, open the pop 3 service and delete it from there. I have noticed that is the only way to remove them, for me anyway. As you mentioned a default domain can't be deleted only renamed. Unless you uninstall SMTP then reinstall.
