Guest alanjay Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Whenever the computer attempts to go into sleep mode, the message "going to sleep appears" and then the computer immediately restarts. I've tried resetting the power options to no avail. Any way to remedy this problem?
Guest Rishi Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Re: Sleep mode Hello, This usually happens when some device (piece of hardware) wakes the computer up from sleep. This might be your NIC card or something else. One way of finding the culprit is by opening up Device Manager > Network Adaptors (well you have to do this step for every hardware that might cause the computer to come out of sleep but here I'm just giving an example of the NIC) > Find your NIC adaptor that you use > Double click on it > Power Management tab > Uncheck 'allow this device to wake the computer' > Click OK and close device manager. Hope this helps. -- Regards, Rishi email: rishi@vista-news.com | web: http://vista-news.com "alanjay" <alanjay@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:52DC6B4B-490C-44C5-A6F9-222C153DF7AF@microsoft.com... > Whenever the computer attempts to go into sleep mode, the message "going > to > sleep appears" and then the computer immediately restarts.
