Guest Harry Avant Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 I have a Toshiba laptop running WinXP SP-2. I use ZoneAlarm and would like to get rid of the MS Firewall. I've tried using msconifg to keep it from running each time I boot but no luck. I'm getting tired of seeing the "Your computer may be at risk" message. How can I really stop it from running or delete it for once and all? Harry

An alternative would be to click on "Start/Run/type in "Services.msc" and click on "Okay". Find "Windows Firewall and ..... right click and then click on "Properties". From this window, you can deactivate the starting of the firewall. Dave H.
Guest PA Bear Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Re: Getting rid of MS Firewall Security Center /should/ recognize your ZA Firewall (and installing ZA /should/ automatically disable the Windows Firewall). I'd recommend contacting ZA Support, Harry. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin; DTS-L.org Harry Avant wrote: > I have a Toshiba laptop running WinXP SP-2. I had already used msconfig to keep it from running but I guess it gets turned on again with an alert. I changed the "way windows alerts me" and disabled it in Services.msc, hope that will do it. Again thanks, Harry
