Guest hsmom314 Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 My mom has a computer running Windows XP. She installed some software for an active desktop that bogged her computer down because of the memory required for the active desktop. She has removed the software and selected the Windows fall theme for her desktop. When her computer boots up, you can see the theme then her screen changes to orange. It looks as though the theme is behind this orange screen. Any advice to get rid of the orange screen?
Guest Kelly Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Re: Desktop Theme See if this helps: Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop Locate the SCRNSAVE.EXE entry in the right pane and modify it to the one you desire. SCR files are located in Windows\System32 by default, but you may have some add-on screen savers in the Windows folder. -- All the Best, Kelly (MS-MVP/DTS&XP) Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm "hsmom314" <hsmom314@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:DEF9F446-2465-467D-A1DE-2984D9729052@microsoft.com... > My mom has a computer running Windows XP. In Display Properties, click on the Desktop tab. On the Desktop page, hit the "Customize Desktop" button. This should bring up the Desktop Items dialog. Click on the Web tab. If there are any items listed in the Web pages box other than "My Current Home Page", click on them and hit the Delete button. Remove the check mark from the box next to "Lock desktop items". Click OK twice. Good luck Nepatsfan
