Guest fraz Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I have a member server that recently has only shown local log in as an option (the drop down that would show the domain option is grayed out, showing only the local machine as an option). Since the domain admin is added to the local admin group, I can log into to machine with a domain account. I am not sure if this means of logging in is functionally different or not, but I am a bit alarmed that I am unable to use the dropdown any longer. Any ideas why this would happen? Thanks

Is DNS configured properly? Is the computer account still in place in AD? You also can try to remove the machine from Domain (after that also reset or delete machine account in AD Users and Computers) and join the domain again. (You should remember the local admin password or set one at the time of unjoining.) Best greetings from Germany Olaf
