Guest chief2000 Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Once in a while I keep getting messages saying that "files that are required for windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions." It then asks me to insert my Windows XP disc. I have XP home edition with SP1 and 2 installed along with all current updates. I have not experienced any major problems except that my joystick does not operate properly and is pretty new. Windows should recognize it without any software installation in the USB 2.0 port. It will not calibrate either. Don't know if this problem is even remotely connected with the "files" msg. Even if it isn't, I'd like to nip it in the bud before anything major occurs.
