I am thinking about buying Windows XP PRO. I saw an ad about a new company,

PC Upgrading and their low prices. Do you think $75 is a good price for PC

Upgrading. I heard this company is very good.

There's nothing on that site to make me believe that there's anything

in the least bit legitimate about them. "If it sounds too good to be

true....." This site bears all the hallmarks of a classic and widely

common scam. I certainly wouldn't give them any of my credit card numbers.

Gosh!

sampasite.com is registered in Redmond, WA so it must be legit!

Well, as noted, it doesn't sound like a legit site or company. I certainly

wouldn't buy anything from them.

Why?

Because every Tom, Dick, and Harry would be e-mailing MVP's with their

questions.

When exchanges of ideas occur within the Newsgroup, *everyone* benefits.

The ones that may have a similar problem as yours, those just looking to

garner a better idea of how Windows works, and lastly--and very

importantly--staying in the newsgroup keeps information accurate (or more

accurate). If I post some advice to you that is in error, I will be

promptly called on it; usually by several members of the community. This

directly benefits the OP of the problem.

Not to mention that it also benefits the person who made the erroneous

post. I hate to post erroneous information, and don't think I do it

often, but if I do, I *want* to be corrected. The alternative is to be

left believing the error.

Others have told you why I don't casually hand out my address, though

frankly, it's out there for anyone who wants to find it. My question to you

is, "Why do you want my email address?"
