Win2003 Ent R2 CD2 Service Pack 2 does not intall

Hello, I am trying to do an integrated installation of Windows 2003

Enterprice with SP2. I can install fine the operating system using CD1 with

SP2 integrated into it. After a fresh install using this cd the computer

starts with SP2 already intalled. The problem is that when I try to run

CD2, with SP2, I got an error that reads:

"Setup cannot continue because the operating system edition is different

from the Setup edition."

If I use the original CD2, without SP2, I get:

"Setup cannot continue because this product disk is incompatible with the

service pack installed on this computer. To complete the installation of

Windows Server 2003 R2, you will need to insert the laters version of

Windows Server 2003 R2 Disc 2."

To integrate CD2 I used the command suggested by microsoft (adjusting it for

my environment):

WindowsServer2003-KB914961-SP2-XXX-LLL.exe /integrate:Drive:\WS2003\x86\CD2

I need DFS from CD2.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone know a solution for

it. I googled the problem to no avail. Any help will be greatly

appreciated.

this may mean, that your product key for R2 is belonging to another SKU than

the CD1, which you already used for the OS installation (i.e. Enterprise

Edition installed, and the R2 product key is from Standard Edition). Since

Microsoft doesn't allow this mix, that may be the reason.

Best greetings from Germany
