Telephoney Service will respond to start command

Could not start Telephony service on local computer Error 1503.

Went to CMD, entered net start ... Telephoney is not running.

Telephony is enable, and the hardware profile is valid.

Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Plug and Play have started.

Path is C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k tapisrv

Acording to Device Manager | Modems

- Agree Systems AC97MODEM V2153dx64. This device is working properly - Use

his device (enabled).

- Standard Modem Properties - This device is working properly. Use this

device (enabled).

What should I do to get Telephony to run?

RE: Telephoney Service will respond to start command

Went to Device Manager found Agere Systems AC'97 modem and ran diag

successfully.

Looked for Agere Systems AC'97 in Add/Remove Programs, it was not listed;

went back to Device Manager and uninstalled reinstalled driver.

Went to Add Remove Programs found Agere Systems 97'AC on the program list,

however size of program was empty!

How can Device Manager install and uninstall the device driver sucessfully,

then text the modem and report it working, yet the Telephony sevice will not

start and the Start/Remove program list does not show the size of the program?
