HELP- "fix" for Windows XP service Pack4

Find the current Service Packs, Hot Fixes etc. for their network products.

What is the time frame since their last major "fix"? What is the physical

size of the "fix". How would you acquire this as a network administrator?

I have *no clue* what it is you are asking, what might be a typo, etc...

Your subject, "HELP- "fix" for Windows XP service Pack4" <-- There is no

Service Pack 4 for Windows XP.

Your message body is not much better... The 'current service pack' for

Windows XP is Service Pack 2. http://windowsupdates.microsoft.com/

(scanning a Windows XP computer from there) should give you the hot

fixes/patches you need for Windows XP.

Assuming you mean "Microsoft" when you use "their"...

I do not know what 'fix' you speak of.

Microsoft releases patches (security/hot fixes/patches) on a schedule. Once

per month - the second Tuesday of each month. Sometimes they have skipped

months and in a few instances - released some pathces earlier than planned

for security reasons.

You can see the critical (security and other) patches released for a given

month using the following:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms##-***.mspx

At the end of this line you see "ms##-***.mspx" .. If you simply replace ##

with the two-digit year and the *** with the three character month

abbreviation, you will see the list of "critical" and "important" patches

for that month (since it only happens once a month usually, if you check by

the second Tuesday (wait until afternoon) of each month - you should be

fine) - note that future months will not work.

As an example...

December 2004's patches..

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms04-dec.mspx

March 2005's patches..

None released.. so that one will fail...

May 2006's patches..

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms06-may.mspx

January 2007's patches..

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms07-jan.mspx

Once you get on the page with each month's list of patches.. You can go to

the related KB articles and grab the appropriate files from there.

Here's some help - through April 2007...

Is this meant to be a question? Sorry, I don't understand it at all,

but let me point out that there is no Windows XP Service Pack 4. SP2

is the latest.

OP indicated he had made a typo and was indeed referring to SP2. But he

did it in a clumsy way: not by writing the info in the body of the post,

but by changing the subject line!

He made that post last night. I see you're using Agent. Is it possible

that Agent doesn't keep thread messages in the same thread if the

Subject Line is changed?

I'm new to Agent, and not an expert in it, but I don't think that's

what it does. I probably just missed his later post, or if I saw it, I

didn't look at its subject line (Agent shows it only for the first

message in the thread).

Nevertheless, I still don't understanding what he's asking.
