Removed Programs Artifacts on Desktop - How Di I remove Them?

Recommended Posts

A buddy reloaded XP Home and other software including Verizon DSL Help

files. Every time he starts XP tow screens appear- Router Error please enter

the user name and password for your router, then click ok (no router has

ever been installed for this PC) and Welcome to Verizon on line updates -to

see a list of installed updates click Installed Products. How can I stop

these screens from appearing?

Also, I forgot how to access the Startup Screen from the run line.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

As far as your second question goes, could it be MSCONFIG from the "run"

line?

Start/Run/Msconfig - Startup

However, if he doesn't need the help files at all:

Troubleshooting, Removing and/or Cleaning Add or Remove Programs

Verizon DSL Help and Support:

You *don't* need or want anything off the Verizon cd that came with the

DSL 'modem'. Unfortunately, the VZ crap is about as hard to dump as

Symantec (Norton). The only easy solution I know of is "reload again".
