Synchronize laptops over terminal server

Hi,

My company has recently outsourced our IT department to a server farm,

which we connect to via terminal server.

Salespeople who travel with laptops need offline access to their files

for when they are on airplanes, trains, etc. I was

quite...surprised...to hear that it is not possible to synchronize

files for offline use on a laptop via the terminal server. Can anyone

absolutely confirm that this is true? I also saw that someone

mentioned that this can be accomplished via third party software, I

would appreciate it if someone could recommend a software package that

can help us with this problem.

Thanks in advance,

Judy

Offline Files and Terminal Services are mutually exclusive

features.

You cannot configure a Windows 2003 Server to use Offline Files

when Remote Desktop for Administration is enabled, let alone

Terminal Services. The Folder Options - Offline Files tab in

Explorer states this clearly.

I'm not aware of 3rd party software which enables this, but that

doesn't mean that it doesn't exist :-)

Yes, a utility like that seems to be the best solution. Not

completely automatic, but nearly so.

If AlwaysSync doesn't do it, you can also try Microsoft's SyncToy:
