Guest JJ Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I just installed registry repair software but now my defrag does not work. It launches and the window opens but nothing happens when you select a drive or volume. -- jj
Guest Ron Badour Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Re: defrag does not work Uninstall the software. If defrag still does not work, see if there is a restore point available that is before the software installation. -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP 1997 - 2007 "JJ" <JJ@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3BED039F-AE0B-4E7E-82C8-CD7EF5502E31@microsoft.com... >I just installed registry repair software but now my defrag does not work. >It > launches and the window opens but nothing happens when you select a drive > or > volume. > -- > jj

Did you run it and allow it to do a repair? If so is there an undo? If so undo the changes. It's best to avoid these registry "repair" programs. They cause more problems than they fix. Uninstall the software and use windows system restore to go back to a point right before the software was installed. Info on why registry cleaners should be avoided: http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=24665 http://www.edbott.com/weblog/archives/000643.html Good luck. -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell]
