Guest fuggit Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 In XP..... When I click on a folder on desktop, or either in "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer" on a folder on the right side of the screen, it'll prompt me for a "Search" when it use to just open the folder like I would want. Right clicking on the folder has "Search..." listed first and it use to be "open" I tried to create a .txt file listing everything in a folder directory, I created a .bat file and something didn't work. I went into to delete the setting for the .bat file in registry and I believe I may have altered something. Could someone please help me and tell me how to set things back to the way they were.

Not to reply to my own post, but when I tried to search the General board, I must have froze up somewhere because I didn't see this question posted numerous times. I apologize for that and I've taken the advice given in other posts...problem fixed. I appreciate the help that goes on here. Thanks
Guest steve7132@yahoo.com Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 RE: Folders aren't opening go to control panel, Folder options, Click on File types tab, find Folder (note: do not change File Folder), make sure you find Folder, highlight it by clicking it, then click the advanced button check to see if the action you want is there, or just click set default, and it should go back to normal, don't touch anything else "fuggit" wrote: > In XP..... > > When I click on a folder on desktop, or either in "My Computer" or "Windows > Explorer" on a folder on the right side of the screen, it'll prompt me for a > "Search" when it use to just open the folder like I would want.
