Guest Stringed Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 My Sony VAIO notebook suddenly has become unusable. When I click on the left touchpad clickerwhile the pointer is on the scroll bar, the page should move downwards. It DOESN'T. The page jumps back to the top immediately after releasing the click button. That happens as well using the arrow buttons. They work momentarily but immediately, the screen scrolls to the top of a web page. Also, when I try to type into a box, the cursor jumps to the left extreme, causing words to form backwards. Finally, on the desktop, the highlight defaults to the upper left icon. I cannot select and click on any other icon. As soon as I highlight another icon, the highlighter defaults to the My Documents icon and only seldom does a quick double click result in the desired program opening. Usually My Docs opens. Any thoughts?
Guest Stringed Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 RE: No Control of Scrolling and Cursor n.b. - I have already reinstalled the touchpad driver and control utility for XP. Did not cure. - Stringed "Stringed" wrote: > My Sony VAIO notebook suddenly has become unusable. Since you've already tried updating drivers and the change was sudden, unless you can correlate it to something else you installed it is probably a hardware issue.
