WINDOWS 98 QUESTION!

I have this old scanner for Windows 98 which is called Pagis Pro 3.0 and will

not work for Windows XP at all. What I want to do is to save these files on

to a disk and save them to my other computer that has Windows XP and be able

to see them on that computer as well as send them to someone in an E-Mail

whether it be a picture to a document or anything else I've scanned as well

also. I just want to be able to see these files on my computer that has

Windows XP and for other newer versions of Windows that come out in the

future for the same reasons as well also. This is also because that other

computers may not have these type of conversion files and will only work one

way and because they don't have this particular program that I speak of here

at all as well also! Can you please tell me which of the files in the program

of Pagis Pro 3.0 will work to convert these files from everything I have

listed below.

Currently set to: TIFF Uncompressed (*.tif)

Re: WINDOWS 98 QUESTION!

What you have now, uncompressed TIFFs, is generally OK. Most applications

will read TIFFs just fine. BMPs are even more universal. Both of these

formats have the advantage of no loss of quality. JPEG format is the most

universal, but is "lossy", which means that it is compressed in part by

reducing the quality. Advantage is that they are substantially smaller than

uncompressed formats (TIFF and BMP). I prefer uncompressed TIFFs, but I'm a

graphic developer and can't afford loss of quality. TIFFs are more

complicated than BMPs, as they can contain lots more info, like layers.
