Hi Cab

Welcome to FPCH

Do you have the XP disk to hand?

Guest Wolfeymole
Posted

Pity

Is it possible you could perhaps borrow a copy from a friend at all as you will need one to repair the system.

Well if that is what you want to do Cab then fine.

How old is the laptop. More than likely it did not come with the Windows XP CD it probably has a built-in Repair partition.

If the laptop is 3 years or newer you may want to contact Toshiba for assistance.

Otherwise you will need access to an external drive potentially to backup your data before attempting a repair. If you have access to another computer that has Internet access and a CD/DVD burner then we might be able to help you get some software to attempt to repair it.

AdvancedSetup will need to tell you how to create a boot disk. I am not sure which one he was referring to. Just be patient and we will get you through this problem.

Wrong name but found it.

Here it is. Download this and extract the files on another computer. Then locate the .ISO file and burn it to a CD

Don't just burn it as a data file. You need to do an OPEN and browse to the ISO image and then burn it to the CD which will make a bootable recovery CD

You just need to extract the .ISO file from the program.

Download this program to enable you to extract the .iso image within the program.

Universal Extractor

You will need the beta version uniextract16beta.exe download

Update the innounp.exe inside the UniExtract\bin\ directory with the one in this file: test020.rar

If you need a RAR extractor you can get that here: RAR Labs WinRAR 3.71 download

Install WinRAR then open the test020.rar file that you downloaded above. Then extract the file to the UniExtract\bin\ directory.

Then launch Univeral Extractor and open the downloaded Microsoft file and extract the .ISO image from it.

Then using CD/DVD burning software you need to open and burn the ISO image.

If you don't already have CD/DVD burning software here is a good free version ImgBurn is a lightweight CD / DVD / HD DVD / Blu-ray burning application
