Guest ne5 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 HI, I am trying to enable shadow copies on our file server, with a raid 5 array. When I try to select the volume the shadow copies will be stored , it only gives me the option of the drive that has the original files on. There is no option for any other physical disks. Can someone please advise? Thanks

If you see it's enabled on the partition in the explorer you'll be OK. http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/2b0d2457-b7d8-42c3-b6c9-59c145b7765f1033.mspx?mfr=true "ne5" <ne5@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C2EEF858-9F68-4E26-A9A2-955A0360CCBC@microsoft.com... > HI, > > I am trying to enable shadow copies on our file server, with a raid 5 > array. > When I try to select the volume the shadow copies will be stored , it only > gives me the option of the drive that has the original files on. Guest WorkingHard Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Re: Shadow Copies Yes, just change the storage location, you'll find that under the settings button of Shadow Copies (Storage Area) http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/Library/3a773f4f-2f7d-4376-ab90-be5bd3ed04861033.mspx "ne5" <ne5@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6337718E-E86C-4E58-B365-E9AFF6F17494@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > No , hardware raid.. > > The data I want shadow copies of is on one raid 5 array, and I want the > copies stored on another raid 5 array.. > > Is this possible? > > "WorkingHard" wrote: > >> Sofware raid? Guest WorkingHard Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Re: Shadow Copies Well - perhaps a stupid question if you have the box to look at - is that other array configured in partitions and formatted with NTFS?
