Trace how users access files (i.e. mapped drive or UNC)?

Is there any way to do this? I need to redo our folder structure and

I'd like to find out if anyone is accessing files/folders via UNC

rather than our mapped drives (per the login script). Wasn't sure if

there was something on the server (auditing) or if I would have more

luck from info on the client. If at all?
