Guest Jen Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Im having the same issue as a previous post that was not answered(2003 Server) Another admin had tested doing an netsh dhcp server export on one of our dhcp servers. She then did an netsh dhcp import of the same data back to the same server, as she was testing that the active leases would still be available........(sigh) Now that its time to export and move the scope data to another server when I run netsh dhcp server export c:\dhcp all, I get an error "An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format" and a c:\dhcp.txt file with only one line "1K2W. So it seems that something got hosed up doing the previous export or import. Anyone know of a way to resolve this........? Thanks, Jen See http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/newsgroups/dgbrowser/en-us/default.mspx?query=netsh&dg=microsoft.public.windows.server.general&cat=en-us-technet-win2003&lang=en&cr=US&pt=1FB9885A-6840-48DF-B845-31A5188DE97A&catlist=328BAFD2-1A81-4558-B1DE-B6EB49F31B7E&dglist=&ptlist=&exp=&sloc=en-us

Guest Jen Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Re: DHCP Netsh export Fails Ive already put 2003 SP2 on this server to see if it would fix the problem. The hotfix does not apply to SP2. The problem still exists. "Robert L [MVP - Networking]" wrote: > Microsoft may have hotfix for this issue. Guest Jen Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 RE: DHCP Netsh export Fails FYI, to anyone else having this issue:(from 2003 server to 2003 server) Run a dhcp backup on first server, stop dhcp service. Stop dhcp service on target server Copy entire system32\dhcp folder from first server to target server. Start service on target server. This worked like a charm, and Im nuts for the time I spent trying to find a fix for the export command. Leases started handing out immediately. Due to all the tech notes that said you could only do this on nt4 and 2k I was reluctant to try it, but it worked. I did not copy the reg key as I had already configured the default dhcp server options.
