Printing with a multifunctional printer trough remote desktop

How should I configure my MFP HP officejet or photosmart to print with

terminal server remote desktop, I can't see the printer in the server.

I tried to install the driver in the server, but it seems that I need to

connect the printer to be recongnized and obviously I can´t do that.

I'm sorry to be the one who has to break the bad news to you, but

most likely, these printers are not going to function within your

rdp session.

Most OfficeJet and PhotoSmart printers are LIDIL-based and won't

work in a TS environment.

But be sure to check this information from HP, you might be lucky

and have a printer model which will give basic printing features

when used with a DeskJet driver. If not, the only possibility is to

use a 3rd party driver-free printing utility like ThinPrint,

Screwdrivers or Provision Networks Print-IT.

Hi,

check this out, could be the old problem with dot4 port:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302361/en-us

But be careful with the descibed resolution. If implementing this you allow

to redirection of any kind of printer installed on the client including kind

of (virtual) printers. Besides this you cannot use the multifunction features

of your HP-Printer on the TS.
