Guest George Hester Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Re: time server Also if your computer keeps good time there is really no reason to use a time server although it is a cool thing to use. You can also use your own computer as its time server and the way to do that is this: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters Value Name: LocalNTP Data Type: REG_WORD Value: 1 Using regedit. Set this to Value 0 if you want to use a time server. -- George Hester ________________________________ "TaurArian [MS-MVP]" <taurarianREMOVECAPS@gmail.com> wrote in message news:ef#HHZdzHHA.484@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > Use another time server, that's what I did ages ago when receiving too many errors - > > A list of the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) time servers that are available on the > Internet > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/262680 > > Just type in the combo listbox. > No registry editing. > > > -- > ==================================== > TaurArian [MS-MVP] 2005-2008 - Australia > ==================================== > How to make a good post: http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm > Defending your machine: http://defendingyourmachine2.blogspot.com/ > http://taurarian.mvps.org/index.htm > > Emails will not be acknowledged - please post to the newsgroup so all may benefit. > > > "larry jordan" <lcj84tbird@someone.com> wrote in message > news:u8HYmZczHHA.5408@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > | Hello > | > | When i go to Date and Time Properties in my Control Panel on the Internet > | time tab it always reads "An error occurred while Windows was syncronizing > | with time.windows.com" and when i click the update now button it comes back > | with the same error , it does it when i try "time.nist.gov" to.
