Guest rickstrong49 Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 For the last five days, every time I shut down my computer it tells me updates are waiting to be processed. Every time I process them & it shuts down; but next time, it says there are 2 updates waiting to be processed again. Is it usual to get this many updates, or is something else going on?

Guest JTR Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 RE: Windows XP updates too frequent 1. Close all instances of Internet Explorer. 2. Click Start and Run, type "REGSVR32 ATL.DLL" (without quotes) in the open box and click OK. Note: There is a space between REGSVR32 and ATL.DLL 3. Similarly, one by one, register the files listed below: REGSVR32 MSXML3.DLL REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL REGSVR32 WUAUENG1.DLL REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL REGSVR32 WUCLTUI.DLL REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL REGSVR32 WUWEB.DLL REGSVR32 QMGR.DLL REGSVR32 QMGRPRXY.DLL REGSVR32 JSCRIPT.DLL Note: Please try and register all the files. While registering each .DLL file you should get a "succeeded" message. If you encounter any error message, please let me know the exact wording. -- Thanks, JTR "rickstrong49" wrote: > For the last five days, every time I shut down my computer it tells me > updates are waiting to be processed.
