Guest -1 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I can't boot my Windows XP Pro workstation. Ctrl-alt-del doesn't work, start=>shutdown=>restart doesn't work, nor does log off. The last time I saw this, I did a cold boot, the OS got corrupt and a reimage was required. I'm reluctant to cold boot again. Is there any hidden command (eg dos based perhaps ) to reboot this that I'm not aware of? Thank you

Maybe boot from a XP install disk and run checkdisk (link) http://kb.wisc.edu/helpdesk/page.php?id=5097 I'd put that drive in another computer as a slave device and pull all the stuff you want off of it then test the disk with http://www.hdtune.com if it is good, then reinstall if not buy a new drive from http://www.newegg.com Clark
