Guest Jayenj Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Hi I'm installing an internal pioneer DVR-1810 but can't get my PC to read the device, I was told that I need to add the slave drive/partition/Bios Can anyone tell what I need to do, for the system to read the CD ROM and the DVR?
Guest sgopus Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 RE: Installing DVR What do you mean read the device, that makes no sense. XP should automatically see the device and list it in windows explorer, it should say dvd/rom drive. what exactly are you doing to (read the device)? Please list the step you are taking after physically installing the device "Jayenj" wrote: > Hi I'm installing an internal pioneer DVR-1810 but can't get my PC to read > the device, I was told that I need to add the slave drive/partition/Bios > > Can anyone tell what I need to do, for the system to read the CD ROM and the > DVR?
Guest Andrew E. Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 RE: Installing DVR Check the jumper pins on the drive, set to master or slave, move the pin as mfg recommends. The dvr doesnt need another drive on the same IDE cable, also, what would you partition... Guest Jayenj Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 RE: Installing DVR Perhaps I am not that computer Savvy but I installed the DVR on the secondary slave, the secondary master has a CD-ROM attached to it, once installed the DVR does not show up on the device manager as hardware, it show up if I disconnect the CD-Rom and restart the PC then it shows device shows. I am not doing something right after both devices are installed only one show up on the device manager. Guest Jayenj Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 RE: Installing DVR Will check the jumper pins, I am not sure why the device manager does not show both devices the cd-rom on the master and the dvr on the secondary "Andrew E." wrote: > Check the jumper pins on the drive, set to master or slave, move the pin as > mfg recommends. The dvr doesnt need another drive on the same IDE cable, > also, what would you partition... > > "Jayenj" wrote: > > > Hi I'm installing an internal pioneer DVR-1810 but can't get my PC to read > > the device, I was told that I need to add the slave drive/partition/Bios > > > > Can anyone tell what I need to do, for the system to read the CD ROM and the > > DVR?
