WinFax says modem is busy

Can any one explain to me how to fix this little problem i have

installed Winfax pro 10.2.....worked well before\but recently i found i can

not send or recieved faxes...modem in use?????????

 

i have tried reinstalling the modem in winfax but keeps saying com1 is busy

and looks like the modem is busy with the lights flickering very quickly?????

how do i find out what is causing this ? like how do you find whats is now

making that line busy and why is using it?

The modem light flickering suggests that the modem is indeed busy. If you

are not running anything that could be using it, then something else is, and

I would suggest malware. You had better hope that it is not a dialer

phoning some premium rate phone number located on the other side of the

planet.
