Guest JJ Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 How can I have restore points automatically created dialy or weekly or whatever time period seems appropriate? I needed to do a retstore and the 1 day available did not work. An earlier one or several earlier ones could have been just as useful. -- jj
Guest Raoul Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Re: restore points You don't by any chance have Norton Antivirus installed do you? There's a known problem with system restore if you do. If that is not occurring, something is wrong. Read here: http://bertk.mvps.org/html/healthy.html -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Please Reply to the Newsgroup
Guest Raoul Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Re: restore points Well Ken, JJ is not the only one. I have to force a restore point to be created as it is rare that Windows creates one on its own. But if that's the case, something *is* wrong, and you should find out what's wrong and fix it, not just work around it by forcing Restore Points. Take a look at Bert Kinney's site I provided the URL for below. > "Ken Blake, MVP" <kblake@this.is.am.invalid.domain> wrote in message > news:9grea3l6dinsa3kubsk4ap4hjc615utn26@4ax.com... > > On Wed, 25 Jul 2007 06:30:01 -0700, JJ <JJ@discussions.microsoft.com> > > wrote: > > > >> How can I have restore points automatically created dialy or weekly or > >> whatever time period seems appropriate? Guest Bert Kinney Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Re: restore points Hi JJ, Let's see if System Restore will function in Safe Mode.
