Guest Zumata Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 System scan shows that there are corrupt XP files. System asks for me to insert Windows XP disk 2. I do not have a Disk 2. If I insert the 1 disk I have (with XP on it), that disk is rejected. Can anyone tell me what I should do? Thanks.
Guest Ron Badour Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Re: Is there an XP disk 2? If it says disk 2, then it is probably a system disk provided by the computer maker and you should contact them. If it says Service Pack 2, you can download it from MS: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP 1997 - 2007 "Zumata" <Zumata@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:BD676458-052A-4A3E-BC9E-12B6F0A87C35@microsoft.com... > System scan shows that there are corrupt XP files. > System asks for me to insert Windows XP disk 2. > I do not have a Disk 2. > If I insert the 1 disk I have (with XP on it), that disk is rejected. > Can anyone tell me what I should do? > Thanks.
Guest Jupiter Jones [MVP] Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Re: Is there an XP disk 2? What is the exact wording? If it is asking for "Windows XP SP2", simply insert your Windows XP CD. If it is asking for "Disk 2", that is something your OEM provided. Windows XP comes on one CD but some OEMs have a set of CDs for reinstallation. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar http://www.dts-l.org "Zumata" <Zumata@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:BD676458-052A-4A3E-BC9E-12B6F0A87C35@microsoft.com... > System scan shows that there are corrupt XP files. > System asks for me to insert Windows XP disk 2. > I do not have a Disk 2. > If I insert the 1 disk I have (with XP on it), that disk is > rejected. > Can anyone tell me what I should do? > Thanks.
