Guest Janetb Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 1. What is the difference between (advantages/disadvantages) backing up files to an external HD (XP Backup) as opposed to coping them to the ext HD and sync-ing them with the originals? 2. Is there a way to use MS SynchToy without having to install .net frame? Thanks for the help! Janet

A backup is simply a copy of the source files to a target location. A synch is a mirror (files not in the source will be deleted from the target). > 2.
