My windowsXP's search => weird results! (only text search seems to work, not filename)

My windowsXP's search => weird results! (only text search seems to work, not filename)

 

My WindowXP almost completely has given up the ability to search.

Help!

 

It seems to ignore whatever I put into "All or part of the file

name:".

(e.g. "*.*" or "html" or "doc" ...} all yeild no results.

 

Strangely however if I enter something into the

"A word or phrase in the file:"

(e.g. "the", then I get lots of results, AND they are filtered by

whatever

I have put into the "All or part of the file name:" field

 

Any suggestions?

P.S. I am using WindowsXP SP2, and Internet Explorer 7 (i.e. all the

latest patches)
