Hi,

We have some old NT boxes which we are looking to replace with new

servers and would like to update the OS to something more recent.

Is there a Server 2003 equivalent of Windows NT workstation?

For the applications these servers will be running there is no need

for Terminal Server, Domains, Active Directory, IIS etc.

Basically I just want a rock solid OS to run our applications on, the

alternative being XP.

In order to save costs, do you think that the Windows Server 2003 Web

Edition would work?

Thanks for you help

Check out this article...

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsserver/bb430828.aspx

"Windows Server 2003 Web Edition, can be used solely to deploy Web pages,

Web sites, Web applications, and Web services. Installations of non-Web

serving applications are prohibited. For non-Web serving applications, you

should consider Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition."

The next least expensive Server edition, for which your needs would be

supported by Microsoft, would be Windows Small Business Server.
