Server 2008 TS Gateway Certificate?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am trying to install the TSG Role for Server 2008 Beta 3.

According to the step-by-step this requires a certificate and we do have an

Enterprise CA running on Server 2003.

I am having a hard time generating the required certifcate and could use

some help......

The step-by-step says that the Certificate Wizard won't work. I tried and

they're right ;-) The only other way (I know of) to get this certificate is

with CERTREQ but I can't find an Request Template that will work.

Help!

TIA

Re: Server 2008 TS Gateway Certificate?

Hi,

For testing I exported one of my public certs from a 2003

server and then imported it to my Server 2008 machines. You

could use one of your 2003 servers to request a cert using the

wizard in IIS and do the same thing.

There are SSL providers that will issue free public certificates

that are good for 90 days (some are for 30 days or less). I

prefer using public certificates because they make testing from

an outside machine easier and they are so cheap to purchase

now ($12/year and up).
