Guest PatrickM Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Is it possible to make a shortcut for Remote Assistance, and put it on your desktop, so you don't have to go through help and support?
Guest P. Di Stolfo Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Re: Remote Assistance shortcut Hello, isn't there a Remote Assistance shortcut in All Programs? You could drag that to the Desktop. Or do you mean something else? Sorry for any confusion. Greetings, P. Guest Gary S. Terhune Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Re: Remote Assistance shortcut Don't think so. The whole procedure of choosing Messenger or Email method, etc., is part of "HTML Help" and AFAIK you can't make a shortcut to that particular page. -- Gary S. Do I mean something else? Greetings, P. As P. Di Stolfo pointed out, there should be a shortcut on your Start Menu that you can drag to the desktop. If you don't find one, do the following; Right click an open spot on your Desktop and select New -> Shortcut from the menu. Copy and paste the following into the location box. %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\rcimlby.exe -LaunchRA Hit the Next button. Name your new shortcut Remote Assistance. Hit the Finish button. Good luck Nepatsfan
Guest Gary S. Terhune Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Re: Remote Assistance shortcut Nope, that sounds like it. I just don't recall ever having seen one in the Start menu anywhere. Thanks for the info. Hmmm... Is your installation Home or Pro edition? I seldom dig deeply into Home Edition. -- Gary S. Terhune MS-MVP Shell/User http://www.grystmill.com "P.
