Guest grep Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I've got a client who wants to run the TS client from his W2k workstation. I can't remember the name of the executable anymore. Can anyone remind me? grep
Guest Jon Wallace Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Re: Terminal Services Client for W2k I think the executable name you are looking for is MSTSC.EXE. If you're looking to get it - then it's probably this link http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/tools/rdclientdl.mspx Thanks, Jon ----- "grep" <grep@grepster.grep> wrote in message news:u2jvItI0HHA.1164@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > I've got a client who wants to run the TS client from his W2k workstation. > I can't remember the name of the executable anymore. Guest grep Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Re: Terminal Services Client for W2k No - mstsc.exe is for WinXP. I'm looking for the one for W2k. Guest grep Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Re: Terminal Services Client for W2k Thx. I still coulda sworn there was something that came with Windows... but this should work. grep Vera Noest [MVP] wrote: > Here's the 5.1.2600.2180 version of the client, which is supported > on Windows 2000; Windows 95; Windows 98; Windows ME; Windows NT. > http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=80111f21- > d48d-426e-96c2-08aa2bd23a49&displaylang=en > _________________________________________________________ > Vera Noest > MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server > TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net > ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ > > grep <grep@grepster.grep> wrote on 27 jul 2007 in > microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > > >>No - mstsc.exe is for WinXP. Guest Vera Noest [MVP] Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Re: Terminal Services Client for W2k A W2K Terminal Server has the 5.0 client, in C:\WINDOWS\system32 \clients\tsclient. But that version is now *very* old and has lots of known issues. _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ grep <grep@grepster.grep> wrote on 29 jul 2007 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > Thx. Guest Gregg Hill Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Re: Terminal Services Client for W2k Why people continually argue with the help they receive instead of actually following the advice, I will never understand. Instead of arguing with the response, you could have downloaded it and installed it from the link that Jon Wallace provided, then found out that the executable created after the installation is indeed named "mstsc.exe." You will get better help if you take the time to research the answers you are given, then politely respond if they are incorrect. Jon's answer was right on the money and totally accurate.
