Hi: About 2 days ago I started hearing a single or quick double click sound

(it is a wave file because if I turn down the wave volume I do not hear it)

at approximately 3 minute intervals; I timed it. I have AVG firewall and

Aniti-Virus plus new Ad-

Aware 2007. I cannot find anything wrong or a virus but this 'clicking' is

driving me crazy. Has anyone had problem lately, is this a virus? The only

thing new on my PC is the Ad-Aware 2007 we were forced to move to, but it did

not hear it the first few days it was installed; plus the click it almost

exactly 3 minutes so it is not a sound letting me know something is being

blocked. I have check every setting I can find in the application that

could cause this problem.

Please help before I go bonkers.

Thanks,

I helped with a similar problem; a UPS had software that made sounds.

The sound wasn't available in the Control Panel's Sounds applet.. I did

a search for all .wav sounds, and tested each till the culprit was

located. Once the software causing the sound was found, it was easy

enough to turn it off in that software's preferences.
