Guest Sanjeev Sharma Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I want to know whether it is possible to make XP recognize removable flash drive as a permanent harddrive?

Why would you want to do this? A flash disk looks like a hard disk to Windows, it smells like one, it behaves like one - except that it's removable. Why get rid of this essential property?

Not really since this flag is set by the corresponding driver. In addition, most flash drives are still rather slow and are not designed for that many write cycles. -- d-d
Guest Bob I Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Re: How to emulate flash drive as a harddisk Yes, using the appropriate IDE adapters, the BIOS could present flash memory as a hard drive. You don't need Windows XP. Sanjeev Sharma wrote: > I want to know whether it is possible to make XP recognize removable flash > drive as a permanent harddrive?
