Matty,

If you reset the BIOS the automatic setting is to turn the onboard VGA on - there will be an option on the BIOS that says 'integrated' something - cant remember off hand but the VGA option will be in their - DISABLE it and save the BIOS

I heard that VGA mode SHOULD turn itself off after a graphics card is inserted, so, I'm going to try putting mine out and back in. I'll also have another look for the VGA thing in the BIOS.

I have never seen a MOBO that turns the VGA off if you insert a GPU. they are also all meant to adjust memory timings - but you still have to set them manually 99% of the time to get them to run at the right speed

Is there no sort of software to remove or disable the VGA? There is deffinately nothing about VGA in the BIOS. No 'On-board Graphics' or 'Intergrated Graphics'. Nothing. I checked every single category and sub - category in the BIOS.

When I go into BIOS/ Advanced/ superIO (the likely folder) This is what comes up:

On- Chip Primary PCI IDE [enabled]

On- Chip SATA Mode [Auto]

On- Board HD audio [Auto]

On- Board H/W 1394 [Enabled]

On- Board H/W LAN [Enabled]

On- Board LAN Boot ROM [Enabled]

On- Board Serial Port 1 (long number)

On- Board Serial Port 2 (long number)

UART Mode [Enabled]

On- Board Parallel Port (long number)

Which of these do I disable? (if any)

They are all fine - check every line of the BIOS - it must be there - can you take a photo of the front page of the BIOS that has all the main options on it and not the subcategories
