Guest kevin Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 when i shutdown,is there a place where my monitor can shutdown automaticly instead of me pressing the button on the moniror itsellf.
Guest Gary S. Terhune Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Re: monitor shutdown Not that I know of. But leaving the monitor on should be no problem. When the monitor is "idling" it uses next to no power. -- Gary S. Guest Kelly Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Re: monitor shutdown Hi Kevin, Right click the Desktop/Properties/ScreenSaver/Power/Turn off monitor. Guest Gary S. Terhune Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Re: monitor shutdown But that doesn't turn off the monitor any more than shutting down. Whether it's your method or shutting down the computer, the monitor goes into standby mode and uses hardly any power at all, but it isn't turned off. -- Gary S. Guest Lano DeMentar Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Re: monitor shutdown that is called standby... and according to the model of monitor it uses 3-10 watts... TVs, dvd players and sound systems all have standby and all drain a small amount of energy even if they are not working... I suggest get a power strip with a switch and turn everything off. Guest Newbie Coder Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Re: monitor shutdown Kelly, How is that going to press the power button on the monitor so there is no light on the front of the monitor, Kelly? If so, you have a very strange set of mores. Yes, she sometimes misreads posts -- we all do. But your animosity is seriously misplaced. Suggest you go out and make a site that does all that Kelly's does and more. If it has real value, I'm sure someone will use it -- if they can't find what they need on Kelly's site.
