Quacker Posted June 8, 2008 Author Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) Back again:) Ok I will remove and re-install the Java. Does IE7 just need to be added on top of IE6, or must I remove the older one? - also anything else need to be done? Finally (for now) I feel more comfortable about removing the system restore thing. Should I do a new scan of everything before doing so and need I post a hijack this log beforehand? Steve Edit: Do I need to remove the J2SE Runtime Environment updates as there are 4 of them all 119mb in size - should I just keep the most recent? Edited June 8, 2008 by Quacker Quote
Goku Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Back again:) Ok I will remove and re-install the Java. Does IE7 just need to be added on top of IE6, or must I remove the older one? - also anything else need to be done I do not know about the others but you cannot uninstall Internet Explorer 6 even if you want to. Internet Explorer will overwrite the existing version and therefore you will be left with Internet Explorer 7. If you ever chose to Rollback, then simply remove Internet Explorer 7 through the Add / Remove Programs list. This will make it revert to version 6. :) -- Goku Quote
Goku Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Glad I could help Steve. :) For your question on how to uninstall Java, I think the most appropriate method would be the one they describe on their official site. How do I uninstall Java on my Windows machine? And yes you do need to uninstall all of the updates before installing the newer version. I believe this is necessary to avoid any potential conflicts that might appear. Hope thats all what you need. :) -- Goku Quote
